Team meeting on whiteboard

Over 4.5 million people tuned into the PDC 24/25 World Darts Championship Final that featured 17-year-old Luke “The Nuke” Littler taking on 3-time PDC Champion “Mighty” Michael van Gerwen

Littler’s rise to fame drove an incredible amount of hype for the darts in 2024, with a massive volume of web and social media activity around the 17-year-old and his ability to perform at such a young age. His social media within the past 2 years has blown up, with him seeing over 1.8 million people follow his account on Instagram.

Luke “The Nuke’s” Social Media Presence

Following his rise to fame in late 2023/ early 2024, Littler saw a dramatic increase in activity online regarding his skills, his age and his mannerisms.

After placing second in the 23/24 PDC Championship, Littler’s face was almost everywhere you looked. TikTok, Instagram and X dealt with a flood of posts about Luke, ranging from doubt regarding his age, laughs due to his post-match kebabs and praise for his natural talent.

While some people would crumble under this sort of pressure and spotlight, Luke’s team saw this as an opportunity to grow “The Nuke” brand further.

Embracing The Hype and Growing His Brand

Instead of shying away from the spotlight, Luke’s team pushed him into brand deals with the likes of BoohooMANXbox and Target Darts

With his face, logo and merch popping up seemingly everywhere, more and more people who may not be daily social media users began to take interest. As 2024 ticked on, Google searches surrounding Luke became more and more frequent.

Searches such as “Who is Luke Littler” and “How old is Luke Littler” saw him climb the ranks for Google’s most searched Athlete/Person lists which are released at the end of each year.

As well as social media, brand deals and his unbelievable performances on the PDC stage. Luke got himself involved with camera-facing promotions and activities. He made a guest appearance on The Jonathon Ross Show alongside established stars such as Millie Bobby Brown and Raye.

He also got stuck in with the growing UK youtube and live streaming community, making multiple live appearances playing FC 25 with the likes of Angry Ginge, Wayne Rooney and members of the popular UK group The Sidemen.
